Bizx: Business Card Exchange

Once you have your business designed and in your hands, what are the next steps? Do you think about how to it in as many other hands as possible? You can hand them out at networking events, add one to the bowl at restaurants. Or you can do what I did and participate in a business card exchange. I have done two so far and would love to do another one. The cards from this last round are so good it makes me want to redesign mines. Niki Brown of Design O’Blog organized the first business card exchange I participated in. I thought it was a super great idea and couldn’t wait to share my recently design cards with the world. A few of the cards I received back had been featured in several blog articles about creative business card designs, so it was really great to have a physical copy to see some of the great work.

This past Monday I was so exited when I received a package from Meredith Marsh of FLX Creative, who organized this recent business card exchange. There were about 70 participants. Quite a few had their twitter name on their cards so @thedesigner4you (one of the participants) put together a twitter list. Every card in the #bizx had something unique about them. There was some rounded corners, one folded one, different shapes and sizes, bright beautiful colors, spot UV coated, a few vertical pieces, glossy, and even letterpress cards. I know some people are saying business cards are a thing of the past. I bet you there probably an app for it. I don’t think business cards are going away any time soon, but they will evolve. I wonder who’s going to do the next exchange?

Check out what others are staying about the #bizx: 1) Rhonda Brown, 2) Jeff Lin, 3) Steven Trotter, 4) Branden Silva, and 5) Niki Brown.

Checking out all of these business cards got me inspired to take look at the evolution of my own business cards, so stay tune for.
