This past Sunday I participated in the 25th AIDS Walk in New York City. As soon as I stepped off the train there were tons of people heading over to the 59th street entrance of Central Park. I was so amazed to see some many people of color and the younger generation was out as well. That was such a great feeling. This was my first time doing the AIDS Walk. I always find out too late or can’t find anyone to walk with. We had awesome weather. Shout out to awesome teammates @LukeBurke and @MzBlackanese that made the 6.2 miles a pleasure. I wish I could have done a better live tweet of the walk but cell coverage wasn’t too great. However we did get a few in.
While the walk has ended, the battle is far from being won. Reportedly the walk has raises over $5.7 million on Sunday. There is still time to donate on the behalf of Team Red Pump NY. Fundraising Deadline is Friday, June 4 and at 5 p.m. Pledges will still gladly be accepted after that date, but cannot be credited to a specific walker or team.
