Since attending my first Blogalicious Weekend, my excitement for blogging was renewed. So over the weekend I decided to go back to my tried and true way to help me stay organized. Especially since I dived into monetizing my blog, I am going to need a way to keep on top of everything. Plus it would be a good way to monitor my goals. That’s where my blogging journal comes in. About two years ago I purchase new moleskine journal (loves these things) and “hack it” to make it into a blogging journal.
I currently have about six sections including post ideas, traffic, design ideas, social media and more. And I can’t forget to mention my handy chart of Military Time for when I’m scheduling blog post ahead of time.
My focus has change slightly so I will definitely be making some changes to include new sections like SEO and monetization. I know that there’s greener ways to staying organize while blogging. My social media friends love and highly recommend Evernote. You can take notes on anything you’re your phone or other mobile devices to your computer. They even have software you can download to you don’t have to always sign in via the site. I broke down and sign up and use it on the way home from Blogalicious.
Many one day I will fully be paperless, but for now I still going to your use my moleskine. I still have tons of empty pages that I would love to fill so I can look back at it one day and see the growth. In face I already start jotting notes for upcoming post topics. Plus I found a great article hacking a moleskine for blogging. I definitely will be using her technique out next time around because it way better than mines.
