Today I am going to cover switching out your header. Twenty-Ten WordPress theme comes with a total of eight different header options.
You can choose one pictured above or:
1) Use you own image. Make sure it a pretty big image. When you upload the photo, WordPress will send you to another screen so you can crop the image to 940 × 198.
2) Or hire me to make you a custom header.
Now this next step is optional. The default background color is a very light grey, while the blog is white. I want to change the color. Don’t worry you don’t need to know HTML or CSS for this. WordPress makes it very simple. Just log into your WordPress Panel, go to Appearance, then background.
Here you will see two options. You can either use an image as your background or select a color. I chose to use a dark blue color as my background. Now that we made changes to the background, lets take a look at our process.
Wow, notice how different the blog looks from when we first started. See how a few changes gave my blog a unique and customize look. Taking the time to make a tweak or two can help you blog stand apart from the rest.
Now, it’s your turn. Go ahead, add your header and change your background. Once it up come back and share your link.
