A lot of the stuff students have on their list for school supplies is very similar to the things you will need in your office. So I have come up with a list of home office supplies to stock up and save money during the back-to-school school shopping season.

My old shredder died on me and I’ve been looking to replace it with the same model. Unfortunately, it’s no longer being made. I’ve searched several sites until I came across this model on Amazon. It can shred up to 8 sheets of paper in the cross-cut pattern which is good for security, as well as shred credit/debit cards. It’s smaller than my broken shredder but works just as good.

I live in New York City so space is a premium, so I take advantage of different storage options. To make finding things easy I put a label on it. Since my Dymo label maker is pretty old, I’ve provided a link to a newer model.

I’m not 100% digital in my business and I need to print things out from time to time. Especially for Tax Season. So to make life easier I thought about investing in some stamps. I couldn’t leave you without an option for digital organization. After awhile I do convert some of my paper files to digital. I do use cloud-based storage but I also like backup things to hard drive. My brand of choice is Western Digital. They have a range of options from drive that can stay home to through you can take on the go with you.

Although, I am a techie at heart, I have found that using paper and pen to plan out my day, editorial calendar, etc. has been so helpful. Yes, a good old composition notebook can come in handy. I had a few laying around that still had quite a few unwritten sheets in them. I remove all of the old stuff and repurpose these notebooks for note-taking. They come in handy while attending webinars and working through online challenges I signed up for. I even use them to jot down notes so I’m not writing on random sheets of printer paper.

I’m about to make the dive into Bullet Journaling. The go-to notebook is a Leuchtturm, although it has been said you can use anything.
For years I have been using the old standard highlighter that’s super bright and bleeds through to the other side of the paper. I learn about these super cool highlighters through the planner community. I can’t wait to get my first set in the mail. They will go great with my new colored-coded system my planner.
