If you are running a business today, you need to have a plan that includes using social media. Since there are tons of platforms and new ones popping up everyday, you need to sit down, create a plan on which ones you are going to use and how you are going to use them. You do not need to be active on every single social media platform, just the ones your target audience is highly active on.
At the same time you cannot be on them 24/7 so a little automation will not hurt. You just need to make sure you log in at some point and actually engage in real time by liking, re-posting and replying to comments. So here on Day 4, let’s switch gears and talk a little about social media and automation.
Tool #4: Hootsuite for automating and managing twitter
I have learned that you should choose between 2-3 platforms and dominate those. So I have chosen Youtube, Instagram and Twitter and the tool that I am going to use to help me maintain my Twitter account is Hootsuite.
What is Hoostsuite?
Hootsuite is a tool that you can use to help you mange your social media accounts. Under the free plan you can connect up to three social profiles, schedule postings and get basic analytics. If you want more features you can upgrade to one of their three paid plans, which starts at $34.99 a month. They also provide online courses and training through their Hootsuite Academy.
How I plan on using Hootsuite
- mainly to manage my Twitter account, by scheduling out my tweets a week at a time.
- instead of using the actual Twitter site, I will set up my HS to see any messages to me so I can easily answer them
- monitoring relevant hashtags related to my business
