Thank you for sticking with me all week long during my 7 Day 7 Tools series. If this is your first post, I’m sharing how I plan on cutting the fat and streamlining my system for 2017. So far I have discussed organization, time management, and now I’m focus on automation. Since I will be utilizing the free version of all of my digital tools, you will see some duplication of services.
Meaning I will be using two different tools that can pretty much do the same thing. See, yesterday I told you how I would be using Hootsuite to help me manage my twitter account. With their free plan I can connect up to three social profiles. Instagram can be one of these but because of some changes you can’t view your feed like you can do with Twitter.
I can create a stream to view hashtags, images I like and posts I scheduled. I wish I could set it up the way I am going to manage my twitter, but since I can’t I don’t see the point of using it to schedule my Instagram posts and therefore I am using something else. However, as a tech lover, I will give it a try and let you know what I think.
Tool #5: Later for bulk scheduling Instagram posts
Later (formerly known as Latergramme) started off as a scheduling tool for your Instagram account. Under their free account you can post up to 30 images per month. They recently added the feature of posting to twitter, but I have yet to try that out. The only downside to this tool (and other that provide this feature) is that your posts are not automatically posted to your account because Instagram doesn’t allow that. So you can schedule your post for a certain time and then you will get a notification on your device at that time saying you have something to post.
Is this easier then just posting live? It depends on whom you ask. I believe so. Just a minute or two to post something I have already setup and then close out IG is better for me so I won’t get sucked into looking at my feed.
How I will be using Later
- scheduling my Instagram posts 1-2 weeks in advance
