Far too many New Yorkers are being infected with HIV and dying of AIDS. We must do better. Did you know that more than 100,000 New Yorkers are living with HIV, but thousands don’t know they’re infected? This year AIDS Walk New York is celebrating 25 years in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Since 1986, AIDS Walk New York has raised more than $105 million for HIV programs and services in the tri-state area. In 2009 over $5.6 million was raised for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) and 50 other local AIDS service organizations. Such as Brooklyn AIDS Task Force, Keep a Child Alive, LGBT Community Center and Positive Health Project.
Team Red Pump NY is proud to be kicking off by participating in AIDS Walk New York this year. The event is approximately 6.2 miles and will be taking place in beautiful Central Park on Sunday, May 26, 2010. Help us make a difference by raising awareness and funds in the fight against HIV & AIDS.
