I’ve been a fan and supporter of Feedburner as a blog subscription tool. Lately, I hadn’t been too sure of its future. Sometime ago I got an email, like many bloggers may have gotten but I found it very confusing. It stated that they were stopping the Adsense within the feeds, which will suck for those who monetize their blogs. Then I heard some rumors that Feedburner may be stopped all together and it already seem like others are prepping for that. So I am not sure what to believe. The stopping of the Adsense in the feeds won’t hurt me because I don’t make an money from that option (but have made money with the Adsense ads on the actual blog).
In the New Year I really want to focus on the future direction of my blog, plus trying some new things. So I went back to the drawing board and reconnected with MailChimp. I still love Madmimi and they are also making some new chances as well. I check out their RSS to Email option but wanted to be able to customize the look a little more. So MailChimp wins this round.
The switch wasn’t hard at all. I am still working on the design of the email. If you are reading this via email, I would love to know what you think. All feedback is welcome. If you are thinking about switching your email blog subscribers from Feedburner to MailChimp, here’s how you can do it yourself.
If you are new to my blog and/or wanted to keep updated via email, you can subscribe three ways: (1) by click on subscribe link in the top menu bar (right below the header graphic), (2) in the sidebar, or (3) just click this link. No matter which method you choose, make sure you confirm your subscription so you don’t miss any new posts.
I have a couple of more changes in mind and hopefully will be rolling those up before the New Year.
