What exactly do you mean when you say “I customized WordPress sites and blogs”? That is one of the most common questions I get from potential clients. Yes, I’m a web designer who can create a page or site from scratch only using HTML and CSS. However over time I noticed that people wanted something that they can maintain on their own but didn’t have the time to sit down and learn how to code. That’s where WordPress came into play. I started using the phase “customized” because I needed a better way to describe what I do in regards to WordPress. Saying “I design WordPress Sites and Blog” isn’t true because I haven’t designed or created a WordPress theme from scratch on my own yet.
Here is what I can do.
I can installed and setup WordPress, either manually or using the 1-click install that most hosting company provide. I do all of the legwork, searching for the best theme that fits your needs. I look for the one that have as many of the features you want right out of box (before I start to customize) because not all theme are created equal. Once all that is in place than I can go to work using my web design skills.
To help you visualize this better, I have put together a sample of the previous WordPress customization jobs I have done for my clients. Below are the snapshots of the completed sites as well as how the themes look before I started.
Currently live: Narrative Network
Currently live: Working Virtually Towards Success (website redesign)
Currently live: Her Goody Bag (blog redesign)
That’s just small sample of what I can do. So if you are ever in need of a WordPress website or blog (or both) setup and customized, or a redesign of your current site/blog, don’t hesitate to check me out over at ArtDeal Designs.
