Businesses aren’t the only people that can set up a Popup Shop, Coworkers are getting in on the fun as well. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term Popup Shop, it refers to when a store temporary opens up an location, usually smaller than their regular retail store in which to to sell from. It a creative way to create buzz as well as check the area for potential new store location. You may remember hearing about the Gap/Pantone Popup store a few years back.
Well now there a Coworking Popup space located at the Dekalb Market (No longer in business) in the Downtown Brooklyn area. The Dekalb Market is on 138 Willoughby Street (@Flatbush Ave) and open 7 days a week. Housed in a collection of colorful salvaged shipping containers is one of the most recent additions to the area. It’s all about promoting Brooklyn’s creative community and entrepreneurship.
I only check it out briefly once but may have to stop by again very soon. The loving people over at Loosecubes (No longer in business)have decided to set up shop in one of the containers, giving Loosecubers a creative space to work from every Friday in September. Yes, there will be WiFi and electricity. So if you are in the area, you should definitely check it out. Enjoy these last few days of Summer Coworking. To reserve a spot, you can book up to four times via Loosecubes. If you plan on going, come back and let me know how it went.
