Last week we learned how to change our header and background. Don’t forget I am running a sale on custom blog headers, ending January 14th.
Today I wanted to focus on the sidebar. Currently we have a search box, links to recent – posts, comments, archives, categories, and meta information. For this project I want to use widgets. You can use plugins instead if you like.
You can find the Widget section under the Appearance tab. Log in to your blog and then go to Appearance > Widgets. Now with the Twenty-Ten WordPress Theme we have different widgets spaces: Primary and Secondary (on the side) and Four different footer areas.
There quite a few Widgets to choose from and you can always goggle to what else is out there. To add the Widgets you click and drag your selection from the left to the place you want it on the right. Make sure you see the dotted box appear and that’s where you place it. You can also change the order by clicking and dragging the Widget up or down to the desire place.
So take some time and play with adding different Widgets on your Blog. If you have any questions or run into problem, leave me a comment.
